Last time I flew I experienced something very interesting and I just had to share.
Have you ever witnessed the power of kindness turn things around 180 degrees in one’s favor only to have it completely reversed by the power of that one’s mind?!?!
Well, I did.
WHEN THE TIDES TURN IN YOUR FAVOR,
RUN WITH IT!
There was plenty of time for me to get through the tremendously long TSA line.
As I was standing there, a frantic woman got in line a couple people behind me. I asked spirit if I was to ask what was happening and got a yes.
After a minute or so, I got her attention and asked if she was ok. In a panic, she proceeded to spew out how she locked herself out of the house and needed to get back in to prepare to catch the flight, only to find that she was terribly late and would probably miss her flight. Sally was oozing with shame, dreading disappointing her boss as she was certain she’d miss the all-important-meeting they were to have upon her landing.
I shared, maybe that wasn’t her fate at all and perhaps people would be kind enough to let her all the way to the front of the line (about 50 people) to help her out. I asked would it be alright for me help out by asking. (NOTE: It was super important I ask so I didn’t interfere with her free will.)
With head hung low, Sally nodded yes and I went right to work, optimistic and certain it was exactly what would get her to the gate on time. The request rippled through the line (like in 101 Dalmatians) all the way to the front! Everyone said “yes”! It was incredible; the generosity of fellow travelers was truly heart-warming.
WHEN SWEET TURNS SOUR
Head still hung low, she moved to the front of the line. Sally was clearly distraught and the generosity wasn’t reaching her heart. She was still feeling hopeless.
I inwardly sent her well wishes and proceeded to strike up a conversation with the gentleman next to me.
About 20 minutes later, we were at the front of the line when he nudged me and pointed in the direction of one of the luggage scanning lines.
There Sally was, only just beginning to load her belongings for scanning!
Incredible. She essentially was no further ahead than had she stayed where she originally started.
WHEN THE TIDES TURN IN YOUR FAVOR
It was clear to me…Sally couldn’t imagine the tides turning in her favor.
She hadn’t opened her heart to all the goodness that had been poured in her direction.
She wasn’t able to imagine that the miracle of jumping ahead so far in line might invite yet another miracle to get her to the gate on time.
She didn’t open her heart to receive more kindness from the Divine to keep helping her make it on time.
WHEN SHAME GETS THE UPPER HAND
This lady clearly paints a picture of what it looks like when we pity and shame ourselves, when we feel hopeless and really put ourselves down.
Her heart was so closed, even when help came, she was unable to actually receive its blessings and bounty.
We are all so very, very powerful! And an open heart vs. a closed heart can make the difference between catching a flight or missing it…and that’s just one small example of the synchronicities that will take place in your life when you open to receive.
REWIRE YOUR BRAIN – ON PURPOSE
Next time you have a small gesture of kindness come into your life, even if (especially if!) you’re feeling blue, grab hold of that baby and make it as BIG-BIG-BIG as possible!
KNOW you deserve it!
KNOW you can cash in on it!
KNOW God-Source-Universe wants to give you everything your true heart desires!
KNOW you are loved and supported and watched over!
Whatever you do, do NOT minimize it.
Do NOT toss it aside as someone’s error in judgment about you!
Do NOT consider it a ‘one-off’ but rather THE ONE that is a door-opener for more and more blessings to come your way!
