THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
CLASSICAL AND WESTERN FENG SHUI
Classical Feng Shui is a multi-layered system that considers 1.) the external landscape, 2.) the internal layout, 3.) the influence of energies over time and 4.) the unique relationship between people and place.
The use of the Luopan, or Feng Shui compass, provides precise directional measurements used in creating an energetic map, known as a Flying Star Chart, specific to your property. When these layers of information are compiled and analyzed together, they provide the basis for detailed and tailored recommendations.
What is commonly called Western Feng Shui often uses a simplified Bagua Map that assigns areas of a home to life categories such as relationships, wealth and career based upon the position of the entrance. While this approach is easy to learn and apply, it does not incorporate many of the exacting measurements, calculations, timing influences and property-specific variables used in Classical Feng Shui.
